Aubameyang wants out of Arsenal 'along with half the squad'

Arsenal skipper Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang wants to leave - with half the squad ready to follow him, according to an inside source.

The Indepedent says a source is insisting “half the squad" are thinking about quitting the Gunners, with Alexandre Lacazette and Granit Xhaka among the names mentioned.

It was hoped that Freddie Ljungberg's arrival as caretaker could steady the ship until the end of the season after Emery got the chop.

But the club legend could not get the players to produce on the pitch and the board decided to speed up the hunt for a permanent boss.

Pep Guardiola's No2 Mikel Arteta is set to take over after bidding goodbye to the Manchester City squad.

But his pending appointment has already gone down poorly with a section of the support, while Aubameyang's brother quesioned his credentials on social media.
