The Gabon international has certainly looked to continue Henry's goalscoring legacy after notching 22 league goals in his first length season with the Gunners.
Asked why he chose to wear the number 14, Aubameyang told the club's website: “I'd always admired Arsenal because of the big history and players like Thierry Henry,"
“He was always an example for strikers and because I am also fast and score goals, I always looked up to him.
“He's the reason why I took the No 14 shirt.
“To be honest, when I arrived I actually wanted No 7, but Micki [Henrikh Mkhitaryan] had already taken it.
“So I thought, 'Why not follow in the footsteps of a legend?' I'm just really proud to wear the 14 shirt and I hope to honour it."
