Atletico Madrid willing to pay buyout clause for Valladolid defender Salisu

Atletico Madrid are moving for Real Valladolid defender Mohammed Salisu.

Marca says even though he has only been a starter at Real Valladolid for half a season, the centre-back has been very impressive this campaign and has been at the heart of a defence that has conceded just 27 goals from 24 matches, the sixth-best record in LaLiga Santander.

His lack of experience is a significant factor that has to be taken into consideration, but Atletico Madrid know that this is a potentially excellent market opportunity given the 20-year-old's release clause is just 12 million euros.

Other top clubs are also circling and this could lead Los Rojiblancos to pull the trigger sooner rather than later, like they did with the similarly raw Joao Felix last summer.
