Atletico Madrid are seeking to delay new contract talks with coach Diego Simeone.

That's according to Okdiario's chief pundit Eduardo Inda when speaking on El Chiringuito.

He stated: "Atleti had communicated to Simeone they had to start conversations. After the derby Atletico are thinking of delaying it in time because they want to discount the Argentine coach.

"Simeone earns €18m net per season plus two in variables.

"They want to renew it to the downside and that is why they want to give a little more barracks to the subject so that the post derby euphoria does not influence."
