Atletico Madrid are joining the battle for Freiburg defender Caglar Soyuncu.

The young Turk is expected to leave Freiburg this summer, with Arsenal regarded as favourites for his signature.

However, AS says Atletico chief Andrea Berta is also interested in Soyuncu and in contact with his agent, Mustafa Dogru.

Berta was informed by Dogru that Arsenal and AS Monaco are also in talks for the 21 year-old.

Last week, the president of the player's former club, Altinordu, declared he was joining Arsenal.

"Caglar Soyuncu set to join Arsenal," said Mehmet Ozkan.

"Arsenal demanded his youth information from us. We'll earn from him, if he joins Arsenal. Bayern Munich wants him too, but he's on the way to the Premier League."
