Mario Mandzukic admits speaking with Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone ahead of his summer switch.
Mandzukic admits Simeone had a big influence on his decision to leave Bayern Munich for Atletico - even though he couldn't understand a word he was saying!
"At one point he called me, but I do not know how to speak Spanish, however football lingo is easy to understand.
"We quickly understood eachother, partly because I understand Simeone as a coach. His style and passion for success are clear and that's what inspires me as well.
"I love him because he's a fighter, a direct kind of person who does not pretend finesse, he says what he really thinks."
