Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa feels he's been a marked man for referees since his return from Chelsea.

Costa scored in Sunday's win over Athletic Bilbao.

Costa was shown a yellow on Sunday as a result of his complaints that the hosts weren't awarded a penalty.

The referee reprimanded the former Chelsea forward after he visibly remonstrated with the linesman.

"Some people are crazy about me, you can't change that, they want to give me a card," he explained in an interview with beIN Sports.

"The press invents many things about me.

"It's simply not necessary to lie and invent stories."
