Atletico Madrid president Cerezo: Players will accept pay-cuts

Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo doesn't expect protests from staff and players over planned pay-cuts.

FIFA are advocating a 50 per cent cut in salaries while competitions are stopped.

"We have spoken to our players and they are aware of what is happening," Cerezo told Radio MARCA.

"I know that neither them nor the coaching staff will have any problems [with potential temporary pay cuts]."

It still remains unclear when LaLiga Santander will get back underway, but Cerezo does not want to make any predictions.

"We do not know how this will evolve and it is not worth saying now that LaLiga will be resumed in May, because we do not know," he noted.
