Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo insists there's no plans to sell Joao Felix.
Felix has been linked with a January sale.
But Cerezo told Marca: "I see him fantastically well, as one of the great figures in football and at Atletico. When [Sergio] Aguero came, [the then-coach Javier] Aguirre coached him and everyone got angry because he didn't play as much as they wanted. He would give him a few minutes, take him out and then add another minute...
"And now, look, who do you have to agree with? The players have to have their stages and Joao is very young. They should also protect them more. He is kicked a lot. I ask that Joao's game be respected.
"I'm not the coach. (Diego) Simeone does everything possible to make the player as comfortable as possible in the team and on the field. He knows him well and he knows when he should play."
