Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has dismissed claims of Diego Simeone being under pressure after their Champions League elimination.

Atletico's season was ended by RB Leipzig last night.

Cerezo stated, "Cholo untouchable? Why? Lots of people argued with him last night. The one who makes the selection is him. Whoever discusses the line-up should buy a team, make a team and let them do it.

"I think we have had a very good season. We have qualified for the Champions League, we have been among the top three and we have reached the quarter-finals, which is not bad."

He added: "People are annoyed. It's wrong because the truth is that we didn't expect that result. Football is like that, these things happen and that's how we are."
