Atletico Madrid have made a move for Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic.

El Larguero says the Croatian is a target for the Rojiblancos.

He has been linked with them for some time, including in 2014-15, when he joined Barcelona. The Catalans are looking to sell players to raise funds.

Rakitic's deal goes until 2021 at Camp Nou and he has a 125 million euro release clause. He turns 32 on March 10. With Barca he has played 292 games (185 in La Liga).

On Sunday, Rakitic hit out at the Barca board, stating: "I thought about leaving in the January window.

"The treatment of (Ernesto) Valverde's staff wasn't the best.

"They were bad times but it's in the past now.

"I can say very clearly that there were things that I didn't like."
