Atletico Madrid are closing on a deal for PSV Eindhoven fullback Santiago Arias.

Arias saw a move to Napoli fall through last week over medical concerns.

However, FOX Sports says PSV have granted him permission to hold talks with Atletico about a move to Spain.

PSV chief Mark van Bommel conceded: "I do not know if he will go to Napoli, but he will probably leave, yes."

Arias would join Atletico as a replacement for Sime Vrsaljko, who is set to join Inter Milan.
