Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak expects former captain Gabi to return to the club.

The Spanish midfielder has been playing the past year in Qatar for Xavi's Al Sadd.

Gabi has been linked with German Burgos' job after the assistant coach confirmed this week he would leave Atletico at the end of the season.

Oblak said, “I have a spectacular relationship with Gabi. We have been in contact since he left here. I have never discussed this topic with him. Germán is still here for the moment, and when the next season arrives we will see.

"Gabi is a legend of the club and surely that in a short time he will return.

"If it is not next season, it will be soon."
