Atletico Madrid are finalising a deal for former Fluminense striker Marcos Paulo.

Atletico are set to announce their first signing of the summer after Marcos Paulo landed at Barajas airport in Madrid on Saturday, reports Marca.

The 20-year-old left winger will join from Fluminense, and he uploaded a photo on his Instagram account after touching down in the Spanish capital.

Although Los Rojiblancos had been considering the possibility of loaning Marcos Paulo out to gain experience in European football this season, they are now more likely to retain him.

With Atletico Madrid set to get their pre-season preparation underway on July 7, Marcos Paulo will be aiming to make an impression on Diego Simeone and fitness coach Oscar Ortega, especially given the absence of a number of first-team players due to international commitments.
