Atletico Madrid fear losing Saul Niguez at the end of the season.
The Spain international penned terms to 2026 in 2017 in an agreement which also included a buyout clause of €150m.
Knowing Saul has just signed with new management firm Stellar Group, which also represent Real Madrid ace Gareth Bale, and has fielded enquiries from Barcelona, Manchester United and Manchester City, Atletico's board are becoming increasingly nervous.
AS says Atletico are willing to discuss new terms with Saul - and even leave his buyout clause alone.
But the changes the player has made in recent months has the board concerned that a transfer demand is just around the corner.
