Atletico Madrid have received encouragement after asking Barcelona for Ferran Torres.

Atletico made an enquiry for Torres during talks ahead of signing Memphis Depay from Barca.

Sport says Atletico were informed Torres wasn't available this month, but things could change at the end of the season.

Torres has failed to establish himself as a first-choice since his move a year ago from Manchester City.

Atletico see the Spain international as a replacement for Joao Felix, who has left on-loan for Chelsea.
