Atletico Madrid defender Javier Manquillo is having a medical with Newcastle United ahead of a permanent transfer, according to Sky Sports.
The 23-year old spent last season on loan with Newcastle's bitter-rivals, Sunderland.
The Spaniard made 20 league appearances for the Black Cats and had a previous loan spell with Liverpool.
If the medical is successful, Manquillo will sign a permanent deal with the Tyneside club.
