Atletico Madrid defender Diego Godin insists Antoine Griezmann deserves the Ballon d'Or.

Griezmann is among the contenders for the gong.

Godin said, "Antoine would like to win, I do not know what will happen if he does not win.

"I know I'm not going to win it and I'm nominated, but I'm hoping Antoine will win it because he deserves it.

"Afterwards, those who vote are the ones who decide. I wish and I think he would be a fair winner, so I wish it was him.

"Unfair if he does not win? He is my friend and I want him to win above all else and I think he deserves it."
