Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone has dismissed criticism of his style of play.

Simeone was criticised by Barcelona legend Xavi last week for the way his team's play.

But the Argentine responded: "I respect all opinions, football is wonderful and there is a lot of training needed to win and all are good.

"You have to choose one and we believe in one because of the characteristics of our players. In seven years we have not been wrong."

Atletico meet Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League tonight.

Simeone added: "The Borussia coach is doing a fantastic job, he is convincing a group of young guys to play this football with a job from the front to the defence.

"Taking advantage of their verticality, on the wings they have speed, they have direct play in the middle ... A clear idea and it is coming out perfectly."
