Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone was satisfied with their 1-0 win over Rayo Vallecano.

Saturday's 1-0 win against their near neighbours was decided by a solitary Antoine Griezmann strike on 74 minutes.

Though far from a vintage display, Simeone praised the team's hard work to claim the three points.

"Every time we come here, it has been tough and we usually get by via the minimum scoreline but it is always important to win," Simeone said at his post-match press conference.

"The team started off well, Saul's header was a nice chance, then they improved. In the second half we put more weight going forward and then we found the goal.

"No matter how you play on the pitch, we all want to win, we always want to win."
