Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone was pleased to see off Real Valladolid's second-half comeback on Sunday.

Atletico eventually won 2-5 on Sunday in Valladolid.

Simeone said, "Valladolid is a brave team. They had to take advantage of the counterattacks, the game had gone very well with 0-3 and without danger, the penalty appeared and the goal put them in the game.

"In the second half it was different, they were more encouraged, they took advantage of the stopped ball to push and score, the changes gave us offensive vertigo. In that I hit you and you hit me, we were more forceful. Memphis (Depay) and (Angel) Correa entered to get more advantage and not defend the 2-3."

Antoine Griezmann produced another two assists and Simeone also said: "The other day I said that Griezmann could be one of the best players to have played at Atlético. Hopefully he can continue like this for a long time and he can continue like this for a long time."
