Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone was happy with the way the club held onto Lucas Hernandez.
The defender was subject of intense interest from Bayern Munich over January.
"The club worked accordingly in both situations," Simeone said.
"I have been asked and have responded.
"Lucas is necessary because of his talent, strength and generosity."
