Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone retains hope of buying a new striker in January.

AS says Atletico sports chief Andrea Berta is working on finding a new striker for Simeone after failing to clinch an agreement for Valencia ace Rodrigo Moreno last summer.

At least four names across the continent are now being targeted by Berta.

PSG veteran Edinson Cavani, Rodrigo, Torino captain Andrea Belotti and AC Milan centre-forward Krzysztof Piatek are all under consideration.

Atletico are reluctant to go higher than €40m to satisfy Simeone's demands.
