Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone was delighted to cap off the week with victory over Villarreal.

The 2-0 win capped a fine week for the Argentinean after the Rojiblancos' success over Juventus last Wednesday and a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Rayo last weekend.

“The three games this week were difficult and even more so with the added emotion from Wednesday," Simeone told reporters after the game.

“At the start of the match they had a chance that (Jan) Oblak dealt with as he tends to do. Then we found our lines and Morata managed to score. We were happy about that. We didn't know whether to bother celebrating or not though, as the other two he scored [against Real Madrid and Juventus] were ruled out even though they were valid."
