Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone praised Joao Felix's performance for their Champions League defeat at Chelsea.
Los Colchoneros lost 2-0 on the night, 3-0 on aggregate, as they put in an underwhelming performance, but Simeone was pleased with what he saw from the Portuguese forward nonetheless.
Simeone said, "It was even in the first game, but they were superior today.
"We tried to press high and, at times, it worked, but other times it costed us. We tried to find other ways of getting to goal, but we weren't good in attack.
"But Joao looked the best he's looked since he's been in the team. That's the player we want."
Luis Suarez was taken off with Atletico needing a goal and the forward didn't appear pleased as he came off.
"It's normal for a player to want to keep playing," Simeone said.
"We thought that with other players on the pitch we had a different way to attack, that's why we made the change."
