Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone admits he doesn't want to lose Kieran Trippier.
Newcastle have met the buyout clause in the contract of Trippier, who again impressed in victory over Rayo Vallecano on Sunday.
Simeone said, "There are millions of reasons (for me wanting him to stay).
"He is an extraordinary player, he has always given us very good things. He is important to us. It will depend on him what happens.
"We want him to stay and we will look for him, but no one can be kept in life."
Simeone also insists he's unconcerned about Luis Suarez's form.
He added: "No, I saw it with intention, I saw it within the game. When a footballer like him is competitive like this to give us everything he has, he is welcome."
