Atletico Madrid chief Miguel Angel Gil Marin has played down the prospect of signing Valencia striker Rodrigo.
The Spain international had been linked with a move to the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano, but that now appears unlikely.
"I think so, yes," he responded when asked by El Chiringuito if that deal was now impossible.
The operation was relying on the sale of Angel Correa to AC Milan, with the money being spent on Rodrigo as his replacement.
But it now seems that any deal may have collapsed.
