Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone wants to keep hold of Thomas this season.

The Ghanaian midfielder spent last season on-loan with Almeria.

Simeone has been impressed by Thomas' application in preseason and is reluctant to see him loaned out again.

Last season he started as a very defensive player, but bit by bit he found himself approaching the opposition area. Right now, Thomas will not leave.
