Abel Resino will remain in charge of Atletico Madrid next season.
The Atletico board has agreed to hand the coach a 12-month contract (he had been seeking a two-year deal) and Resino will sign the agreement on Monday.
The board agreed to go with Resino after a two-hour morning meeting on Thursday.
