Atletico Madrid are appealing against Kieran Trippier's 10 week ban.
Trippier has been banned from football for 10 weeks after the English FA found he broke betting rules.
The right back, 30, was found guilty of four breaches out of a possible seven during a personal hearing on Wednesday. He will miss the Champions League clash against Chelsea on Feb 23 as well as 11 other matches for the club.
AS says Atletico are now lodging an appeal against the suspension.
Atlético believes they have nothing to do with what happened with the footballer and affirms that in any case it should be an English team that is left without the right-back. There is a feeling the suspension should only relate to the Premier League and not to LaLiga nor UEFA games.
