Athletic Bilbao president Josu Urrutia has cooled talk of re-signing Tottenham striker Fernando Llorente.

Llorente talked up the prospect earlier this week, though admitted he'd not heard from Urrutia nor any directors despite his deep connections with the club.

Asked about the prospect, Urrutia was unenthusiastic.

"We have to be aware of of monitoring players for areas where our staff can improve," he said.

"Llorente rejected in his day an irresistible offer from us and preferred another one. That has actually happened..."
