Athletic Bilbao president Aitor Elizegi says they'll be active in January.

Looking ahead to January and the transfer window, Elizegi hinted there could be some deals to arrive.

"We're speaking to the players we are looking at," he said.

"We have to get closer to them to know how they feel and, as always, show respect to the teams they play for."

Athletic have a policy that only sees them use Basque players, which has often earned them a lot of praise around the world.

"I would like to see the Basque Country represented in the European Championship," Elizegi said to El Larguero.

"I don't care if people get upset or angry.

"Basque Country v Spain is also something I would like to see, it would be a beautiful match."
