Athletic Bilbao fullback Yuri Berchiche has spoken of leaving PSG over the summer.

Athletic splashed out €25m to sign Berchiche from the Paris giants.

"It was pretty simple, I wrote to Antero (Henrique) to tell him that I wanted to leave because the offer of Athletic Bibao was not unreasonable," he recalled.

"I had the opportunity to return to Spain. My wife was pregnant and had some problems. Now I am closer to my family so I can help them a bit more. I knew there were important people, like Javier Pastore, who were not going to continue there. He was someone important to me, who was always there for me.

"The same thing for Edinson (Cavani). There were circumstances that pushed me to leave."
