Athletic Bilbao defender Yeray says this summer's preseason has been good for team spirit.

After landing in Germany on Saturday and playing their first two pre-season friendlies on Sunday, the Lions have already completed five training sessions at their base in Harsewinkel.

“We still need time to get into the rhythm needed for high-level competition," Yeray told the press after morning training. “But that will come with more matches and more training sessions. In general the whole team is looking strong and motivated."

The no.5 made it clear that Los Rojiblancos should set their sights towards the top end of the table, reiterating how important it was to hit the ground running once LaLiga 2022/23 kicks off.

He said: “We need to start well and get our foot in at the top, because if you do that it's very difficult to fall away."
