Athletic Bilbao counting on Chelsea selling Kepa

Athletic Bilbao are counting on Chelsea selling Kepa Arrizabalaga this summer.

The Daily Star says the Spain international has been out of favour at Stamford Bridge in recent months with Frank Lampard dropping him out of the starting line-up for several games.

While he eventually regained his No 1 spot back from Willy Caballero there have been rumours that he could leave the club this summer.

Chelsea paid Bilbao a club record £72million to sign Kepa in 2018 and they would want to recoup as much of that fee as possible in any transfer.

And this would be music to the ears of the La Liga outfit, who reportedly added a five per cent sell-on clause to the deal when they let him leave.

According to Grada 3, Bilbao will profit from any future sale as part of FIFA's solidarity mechanism for training rights.
