Atalanta striker Duvan Zapata was ready to join West Ham on deadline day, it has been revealed.
The Colombia international, reports ESPN, had agreed to join West Ham and terms over a fee had also been settled between the two clubs.
However, a hold-up in documentation saw the deal fail to be signed off before the deadline fell.
Hammers boss David Moyes had been desperate to land a striker, with Michail Antonio the only recognised goalscorer on the books.
Zapata has made 23 appearances for the Bergamo club this season, scoring 12 goals and making 7 assists.
