Atalanta, Sheffield Utd encouraged as Man Utd boss Solskjaer discusses Amad plans

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admits Amad could leave on-loan.

Watching developments closely is former club Atalanta, where they're keen to bring Amad back to Serie A.

Via TMW, Solskjaer said on Sunday: "I am a fan of Amad, he is a great player.

"If we find a right destination for him we will probably let him leave, otherwise he will join the team very soon."

Along with La Dea, Amad is also a target for Sheffield United manager Slavisa Jokanovic.

Amad left Atalanta last January for United and remains highly regarded by coach Gian Piero Gasperini. Gasperini is willing to offer Amad Champions League registration should he choose to return.

However, a season-long loan arrangement may not be on the agenda as Amad will be part of Ivory Coast's African Cup of Nations squad in January. The youngster was part of his nation's Tokyo Olympics campaign this summer.

Last season, Amad managed eight first team appearances for United in both domestic action and in the Europa League. He scored once and produced an assist in United colours.

The 19 year-old has a deal with United to 2025.
