Atalanta goalscorer Luis Muriel admits Real Madrid were too good for last night's Champions League defeat.
Karim Benzema, Sergio Ramos and Marco Asensio scored for Real, while Luis Muriel's free kick was scant consolation.
“We conceded that early goal with an error and it really hit our confidence," confessed Muriel to Sky Italia.
“It's a pity, because we gave away two goals with our errors and that really knocked the wind out of our sails.
“What impressed me the most was the pressing they used on us and also the calm they had when playing, which was remarkable considering this is a club that had a lot to lose and would run into a lot of trouble if they were eliminated. It impressed me."
Muriel added, “We are growing as a club and want to continue growing. These games will help us players and Atalanta as a club to develop.
“That was our objective, to play well in the Champions League and try to go as far as possible."
