Atalanta coach Gian Piero Gasperini was satisfied with their 1-1 draw against Verona.
Duvan Zapata's opener was cancelled out by Matteo Pessina on the day.
“We are a point off securing our place in the Champions League for next season," Gasperini told Sky Sport Italia.
“It was a good performance against a team that was eager to prove itself after the controversial defeat to Roma. We lacked sharpness in the first half and then Verona reacted well after our goal. We could've killed the game off, but a draw at Verona is a good result.
“Since the restart, we've been notching up results worthy of a Scudetto-winner, but that was never our objective. Maybe we can have some regrets about results in the first half of the season, but talking about the Scudetto is excessive.
“I saw the same old Atalanta today. We are not a particularly quick team, but what we lacked today was the quality in the final third, because we did create chances."
