Atalanta coach Gian Piero Gasperini is interesting Atletico Madrid.

Tuttosport says Gasperini has been raised by directors at Atletico to president Enrique Cerezo as the position of coach Diego Simeone is considered.

After over ten years, it's suggested the time has come for Simeone and Atletico to part ways.

Gasperini's name has been championed to Cerezo for his style of play and the success of Atalanta in Europe in recent years.

Should he make the move, Gasperini would work closely with Atletico's Italian sporting director Andrea Berta.
