Atalanta coach Gian Piero Gasperini was delighted with their Champions League rout of FC Midtjylland.
Atalanta kicked off their campaign with a 4-0 win.
“We had so many great games, so an off day can happen and we had difficulties leading up to Napoli. This team always reacted well to setbacks, we needed to win today and it was not easy, no matter what the result looks like," Gasperini told Sky Sport Italia.
“We did well to start strong, because Midtjylland run hard, it won't be easy for anyone to come here and take all three points.
“The statistics show we score a lot of goals, and they were very good goals too. We had to start strong, unlike last season, especially as we've got Ajax and Liverpool at home, so those will be some of the most decisive matches in the group. It's important that we have three points on the board going into those fixtures."
