Atalanta coach Gian Piero Gasperini was delighted with their 5-1 thrashing of Chievo Verona.
A hat-trick from Josip Ilicic dominated the scoresheet.
“We were coming off a shocking period of results and needed this win too much. I would've been happy to win even with a smaller margin," Gasperini told Sky Sport Italia.
“Clearly, after Chievo went down to 10 men, we pushed a bit more just to be on the safe side, but then they lost confidence and enthusiasm.
“Hopefully this can be a turning point for us. Ilicic brought quality, as did Papu Gomez, while their movements and combinations create space for the midfielders to push up too.
“These three points are a confidence booster for us."
