Aston Villa midfielder Barry Bannan says academy coach Gordon Cowans has had a big influence on his young career.
He says he couldn't have asked for a better mentor as he was moving through the ranks than Sid, given his status at the club as well as his spot-on attitude.
Bannan told Villa's website: "I have learnt a lot from Sid. He's been close to me since I joined and he has helped me along the way, with plenty of tips.
"You couldn't ask to learn from someone better - Sid Cowans is a Villa legend. I try to get a few tips from him and take them into training and games and it's really helped me."
