Turkish Super Lig outfit Istanbul Basaksehir are close to signing Aston Villa midfielder Trezeguet on loan.

The forward is not first choice under manager Steven Gerrard, and wants regular football for the rest of the season.

According to respected journalist Nicolo Schira, Trezeguet is likely to wrap up the move as soon as possible, before the transfer window in Turkey closes.

The 27-year-old has one Premier League appearance this season, but was heavily involved for his country Egypt in the recent African Cup of Nations.

Trezequet and his teammates reached the final, only to lose on penalties to Senegal.
