Aston Villa are set to offer Scotland under-21 international Rory Wilson his first professional contract in January.
The 16-year-old, who left Rangers for Villa in the summer, has impressed for the club's Under-21 side.
Wilson already has a goal and assist in his first two appearances for the U21s.
Per the Daily Record, he has impressed sufficiently to be offered terms on a professional deal in the New Year.
Wilson had signed a scholarship deal after he left Rangers, but Villa want to ensure they hang onto one of the most exciting prospects in the league at present.
The likes of Manchester United and Newcastle United had been monitoring him in the past six months.
