Tjaronn Chery has reportedly told FC Groningen he wants to join a Premier League club.

The 27-year old Dutch winger continues to be heavily linked with a summer move to Aston Villa and according to the Birmingham Mail, is hoping Groningen sell him to an English club.

It is believed that Villa have lodged a £3million bid for the services of Chery but will be told to return with an improved proposal of they are to be successful in their pursuit.

Tim Sherwood is still looking for a quality attacking midfielder and has identified Chery who starred for Groningen last season, scoring 15 goals and providing 10 assists in the Dutch Eredivisie.
