Aston Villa striker Wesley admits he's close to Man City midfielder Grealish

Aston Villa striker Wesley Moraes admits he's close to Manchester City midfielder Jack Grealish.

The forward, who is now on loan at Club Brugge, was asked whether he had spoken to Grealish after the pair faced each other in the Champions League recently.

And Wesley responded: "Yes. He asked how I was doing. I said: I hope one day to be reunited with you at Manchester City . He said: I hope so too, because I like to play with you."

Wesley, a £22m signing from Club Brugge, is now back at the club which sold him to Villa on a season-long loan.

But he has been recalling how he thought his career at Villa was over as a result of his injury.

"When you can come back after such an injury, you think: now no one can stop me.

"For a long time I thought my career was over.

"That was a really bad injury, at a time when I was better than ever.

"After it happened, I wept every day for 20 days.

"Not from the pain, but because I thought: will that knee ever be okay again?

"I thought I could never return. If you watch the video footage… My right knee goes all the way… inside, you know … All the ligaments were completely tattered. My wife wept then too, because she saw me like this."
