Aston Villa star Conor Hourihane is facing a late fitness test as they prepare to take on Liverpool's youngsters in the Carabao Cup quarter finals.

It is a prime chance for Villa to get into the semis, as Liverpool have their first team in Qatar for the FIFA Club World Cup.

But Hourihane may miss the game on Tuesday night if he fails a fitness test, per the Daily Mail.

Villa boss Dean Smith should make some changes from the side he regularly picks for Premier League games, while Liverpool will be fielding an entirely inexperienced team.

One doubt for the Reds is Rhian Brewster, who was expected to play, as he is suffering from an ankle problem.

Brewster has played two Carabao Cup games so far this season.
