Aston Villa's Guzan, Real Salt Lake's Rimando will get full USA game time

USA national team boss Juergen Klinsmann has made it clear that both of his more senior goalkeepers will get full game time in this weekend's friendlies.

The US take on Ecuador in Connecticut on Friday before meeting Honduras in Florida on Tuesday and Klinsmann says that Aston Villa number one Brad Guzan and Real Salt Lake gloveman Nick Rimando will share the duties in the two matches.

"That's the plan, yeah, 90 minutes for Brad Guzan in the first game. Then in the second, Nick Rimando," said Klinsmann.

The German added that the competition for keeping spots was very healthy in the USA camp with DC United youngster Bill Hamid also in the mix while Everton star Tim Howard takes a break from international football.

"It's going really well. They are loving it. They push each other in training. [Bill] is certainly highly motivated to be in that group, too," Klinsmann added. "It's a good process. It really keeps them on their toes.

"Brad takes it very positively, and Nick is thrilled he's having this opportunity to continue to fight for the starting spot. It's good energy."
