Aston Villa planning to release Elmohamady after Guilbert return from Strasbourg

Aston Villa are not interested in securing Ahmed Elmohamady on a new contract.

The right-back played for the third successive time in their Premier League loss against Sheffield United.

However, Football Insider reports Villa have no plans to offer Elmohamady a contract extension.

The 33-year-old is not in Dean Smith's plans for the coming seasons.

Villa will instead use Frederic Guilbert, who is on loan at Strasbourg, as backup to Matty Cash next term.
